  • Ammeters are connected in series with the circuit
  • Voltmeters are connected in parallel to the circuit
  • Electrons passing through a wire have to push their way through vibrating atoms

Resistance = Potential Difference / current

Ohms          = Volts                / amperes

  • The current through a resistor at constant temperature is directly proportional to the potential difference across the resistor
  • A wire is an ohmic conductor because its resistance is constant
